Is the monitor connected to an add in video card, or on board video? If add in, unplug and then reseat the card. There may be a locking tang on the end opposite the monitor connection.

Hey there,
I agree with the last guy. I would reseat the video card if you have a pci express card as opposed to on board. One other thing, does the BIOS pop up on the screen when you bootup and then you loose display when it gets to windows, or is there no display at all?

If the monitor works on another machine, I would say it's definitely not the monitor. Once you reseat the video card, if the display still does not come on. You may have a faulty video card. Good luck!

Hi there thanks for quick resonses :) It has an add on video card and hasn't got one on board,I have done this already and still not working. Forex, nothing comes up on the screen when I boot pc,it just says no imput signal then goes into sleep mode, think it looks like the card might be the problem,I'm a girl and rubbish with pcs :) The strange thing is it has done this a few times before and after fiddling around with it,it worked again, which made me think that maybe a faulty lead could be the prob? Thanks again Laura

Just thinking....it does overheat quite a bit and shuts down, thinking that maybe it could need a decent heatsink and fan, could that cause it to do this with the monitor?
