Monitor will not start. Please help

October 9, 2010 at 21:45:28
Specs: Windows XP, 2 gig
I've read all the same problems here. I also try all the suggestions in this forum regarding this problem. I try to hold the power switch for seconds and then turn it on again; remove all the peripherals and attached it again; clean the cpu. But NO LUCK.

Actually it all began when I test my classmate's monitor with my cpu. At first my monitor and cpu are doing great. But after I test my classmate's monitor in my cpu, my monitor does not start. I don't know what is the problem. Everytime I switch on the cpu, I also switch on my monitor, and then the lights will come up but after a while it will went off. My monitor is flat screen while my classmate monitor is CRT. Please help. :(

You have not given any detailed specifications of your system. What make/model motherboard?
Does it have onboard graphics or a plug-in card?
Do you get any POST beeps when you try to start up?
"I also try all the suggestions in this forum"

If you had really tried all the suggestions in this forum you would have solved your problem. At this stage you have not even identified what your problem is. Only described a single symptom of the problem. Getting nothing on screen can indicate any number of possible failures and working out which is where skill & logic take over from guesswork. That can only happen when detailed information is available.
