Monitor not turning on

December 1, 2010 at 17:21:32
Specs: Windows 7
I have a dual monitor set up running on my nvidia 9500 gt card and my second monitor has suddenly stopped functioning correctly.
My second monitor is about 5 years old so I'm thinking that might be the problem.

I have had the set up for a few months now with no problem until a few days ago and no settings have been changed as far as I know.
Updated the drivers, cables are plugged in correctly, settings seem to be okay.

What occurs is that it will turn on normally for about 10-15 seconds then the screen will turn off. The power led stays green as if it were running normally so it's not going to sleep/hibernation.

Any help is appreciated!

Can you simply move it to the other port to test or another computer or laptop?

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

Test it on the other port or another computer. If the same thing happens, I'd say it's a blown capacitor.

Well, finally got around to trying this and said problem continues.
Would it be worth repairing or would I be better off buying a new monitor?
