monitor gets no signal with new video card

Specs: Windows XP pro, e2200 2 ghz 3gb
msi r6450 md2gd3 installed in dell inspiron 518 monitor goes to power save mode
video card works fine in older intel 945 board

If the card tested OK in another system, it must be you're not installing it correctly in the Dell. It's a very low end card so I doubt the power supply is the problem, even if it's low wattage. Make sure the card is fully seated in the slot & locked in place & the monitor cable is connected to the card.

it seated correctly. I connected to onboard graphics and get a message at boot up that a graphics card is installed. Press F2 to shut down and connect to card or F1 to continue
