mitac 7512t wont boot from floppy or cd

Specs: Windows XP, intel 1.2gb.386 ram
i done low level format on mitac 7512t now it wont boot from floppt or cd.just black screen .operating system not found.

So this is a laptop. I am guessing you performed a low level format trying to get around a hard drive password. Is that correct?

not to get around a password.to get rid of partitions so i can put a fresh copy of xp on it.its a laptop,yes.the low level format seems to have upset the floppy and cdrom,any ideas.thanks.i can get into the bios,changed boot order,makes no difference,black csreen"operating system missing" put a floppy in and the drive just buzzes,?

You don't need to perform a low level format to delete partitions. I think you probably ruined the drive. How does it show in the BIOS?

it shows up as 40008mb 16383 cyls,16 heads,63 sectors.travelmate.

If that the correct information as what is on the drive label?

Did you remove the drive to perform the LL format or perform in place using floppy drive/ CD?
