Missing Files from DVD-R (RW) after adding files to it

January 14, 2012 at 13:11:49
Specs: Windows 7
I was trying to add pictures to a DVD that I use to save them and with Windows 7, somehow after it was completed all of the pictures that were originally on the DVD were gone. Also, the free space is as if the files are still there somewhere. Is there a way to recover these?

How are you adding the files to the DVD? Using Windows 7 or a third party app?

I used Windows 7. I opened Computer then D drive and it had a "burn" option there.

Go back and look at the screens again. I find that feature very confusing. You need to actually tell Windows to burn the files twice. Once to start the process. The second time to actually burn them after the files are in a que.

I have not tried to use a multi-session disk with the Windows 7 native program so I don't know if that is even possible.

The DVD popped out when it was finished so I think the burn worked. (The new files are there). Is there a way to view the other sessions?

Actually - just downloaded IsoBuster and it found all of the old files and sessions. (Here's to hoping that it doesn't download something weird on my computer since it was free). Thank you for the help anyway!
