Solved Mic Problem win XP

Specs: Windows XP
Help!!! plz My Headphone's Mic :
when i play music and record i dont hear my voice just the music :( , its was working antill i reformate my PC (change it to win xp) mic Works but i can't hear my voice plz help me

Go to the manufacturer of your computer or motherboard and get the audio chip driver from them.

I doubt it's a driver issue since you say you can hear music, but if it is we'll try that option later.

Double click on the speaker icon in the System Tray. Go to Options, Recording. Make sure the mic channel isn't muted. Also, if you have an option called "Record All", make sure it isn't muted and turned at least half way up.

same problem now ill try to find a nother sound driver by the way i use realteck ac97 all the settings are good when i use the mic i dont hear my voice just other sound like when i play counter strike and use it only hear the In-game sounds liike steps sooting ect.. am totaly blocked >.<

Changed it from what? Was it an upgrade from Win98 or a downgrade from Win7? Both would potentially have issues with hardware & drivers. Would it be possible to list the system specs?
