I've not run into this error before but I did find this:
http://forums.techguy.org/windows-7...

It seems there is more than one possible reason but an unwanted program called "Protected Search" is a strong possibility. If this happens to be the case then it might be worth some further adware/malware checks after removal if you pop back.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

If you are Derek and at 78 I`m new to this but I removed that program from computer and it has disappeared from the screen. Do you suggest some more work to do?

✔ Best Answer
Age? nope only 77 LOL.

Yes, run ADWCleaner from here:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/dow...
Get it from the blue "Download Now @BleepingComputer" button.
You Save the file somewhere then double left click it to run the program.
The Scan will show all unwanted toolbars you might have collected. It is usually quite safe to run the Clean but if you are unsure paste the Report (log) on here for me to have a squint at.

I also think it would be worth installing and running MalwareBytes, green icon top right here:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_m...
The quick scan is usually sufficient and again paste the log if you wish.

These are both very good little freebies - I call them first aid and often nothing more needs to be done.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
