Medion HDdrive 2 Go Does not respond, Only flashing light!

Medion / Md 90148.2
August 12, 2017 at 06:45:45
Specs: Windows 10
By mistake I put in an adaptor of 19V [instead of the corresponding one of 12V], the wrong one obviously. After that the light of my medion HD 2 Go only still flashes but that's all he still does. He also no longer clicks and I can not find/see him on my computer.. Does someone know if he is broken now or if so, he can be repaired? I have very manny photos that are important for me!

Wait for someone who knows that particular kit but on a general basis over-voltage can kill hardware off.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Oh, it broke alright, question is how badly. If you're lucky, you can dig the hard drive out of the case, and connect it to something like an SATA to USB adapter or an external HDD enclosure to get the data off of it:

Yes - very likely you've damaged the internal USB electronics; but the drive itself will probably be ok.

As suggested already, remove the drive and using a USB Sara adapter cable check the drive that way.

To avoid such mix ups in the future with mains adapters label each one with the name of the item to which it belongs, which it powers.
