Specs: windows xp
I obtained a free Compaq TFT 5030 monitor, but have no disk or paper work for it. I have a Compaq computer and would like to mate it up with the monitor. What can I do to get it done?

✔ Best Answer
You don't need any paper work or discs. Just connect the monitor to the PC, turn it on, & boot the computer. It will be automatically detected. However, you may have to adjust the screen resolution to the optimal setting, which looks to be "1024 x 768 at 60 Hz, 70 Hz and 75 Hz". See the following:

Sometimes monitor drivers are available but IMO they are mostly unnecessary and only provide a few unimportant tweaks. As already said, just plug it in.
