Solved Low Virtual Memory

Specs: Windows XP, 2.80Ghz 1.49 GB of RAM
My machine is low on virtual memory and the only reason I can think of is all of the deleted information that is still on my computer. I've cleaned the Recycle bin and run a clean up of my hard drive and the drive itself has a ton of room on it. I'm just taking a wild guess that what is causing this is material that I've deleted is still on here somewhere. How can I get rid of it?

What you delete on the hard disk has no effect at all on virtual memory. unless you are running out of disk space in which case it does.

How much space do you have on the drive that is hosting virtual memory. There should be at least twice the amount of RAM you you have.

Make sure you have set virtual memory to system managed. There is no need to change it in Windows XP except in exceptional circumstances.
