Solved Lost operating system Dell Mini 9

Hi
I've dropped a clanger. Now when I try to boot my mini, I get a Kernel Panic - Not syncing error.

Can anyone help please? I would like to try Chrome OS, but whichever OS is the quickest will do.

You can only use an operating system that Dell supports on the Inspiron Mini 9, and that is Windows XP only. They don't have any drivers for any other OS, and certainly not for Chrome.

So re-install Windows XP from the installation disc and use the Product Key that's printed on the underneath of your netbook.

Then download the drivers from Dell Support:

Thanks a million for your help, but I'm getting a kernel panic error, and i don't get the chance to install, I've formatted a usb flash drive and have had the machine running xubuntu.

This error happened when an install went wrong.

Error is 3.254080 panic occurred, switching back to text console.

Any ideas?

Kernel panic sounds like Linux error, reload xbuntu, boot from cd or usb depending on where os is located.
or try another Linux distro from distrowatch
