Specs: Windows 7
I am hating my computer for the last several months. I have a HP pavillion entertainment CTO. I always have an X on my sound & can't watch or hear anything. Once in a while when I reboot I get 5 minutes of sound. I get a "no audio output device is not installed! Also, my firewall? I can't even turn it on, so I'm unprotected. What gives with WIN 7? Should I try an uninstall & reinstall? I'm so frustrated!!!!!! PLEASE Help!!!

Did the computer come with Win 7 installed or did you upgrade it? The reason you have no sound is probably due to a corrupt or missing driver. It's an easy fix if the driver exists for Win 7 on your machine. Not being able to enable the firewall could be caused by a virus or malware of some sort. Have you run a recent updated virus scan and malware scan recently? Post back with you full system specs.
