Solved Looking to purchase an Alienware M17x r2, quick question:

January 30, 2018 at 18:36:05
Specs: Windows 7 pro, qx9650/8gb
I'm thinking of bidding on this laptop on ebay. However, this laptop was first delivered to a Canadian consumer.

Are there any differences between U.S spec vs Canadian spec laptops besides the keyboard layout?

Thanks

It would depend on the cost & the condition. An 8 yr old laptop is apt to have a lot of miles on it plus you have no idea how the previous owner treated it. You can't test it or run any diagnostics (such as memtest86, CrystalDiskInfo, etc) so there's definitely risk involved.

It's an 8 year old laptop so don't bid too much.

"M17x-R2 (Discontinued) - 2010 Revision of the M17x, adding support for Intel i5 and i7 processors, dual MXM 3.0B graphic cards."

Would anyone reading this who lives in the states buy a laptop from the Canadian market?

If no or yes, then why?

I believe those specs are for a 17 R2, not an M17x R2. If the seller posted it as an M17x R2, how can you trust someone who doesn't even know what they're selling?

The listing was written as :

Alienware 17: i7-4980HQ @2.8GHz | 256GB SSD+2TB HDD | NVIDIA GTX 980M | 16GB RAM

i made a mistake and assumed it was the m17x r2

my fault.
