Specs: Windows XP Prof., Pentium 4/2.0
Despite keyboard swap from wireless to USB my character set typing "The quick brown fox..." only returns 123456789012345... All the other functions appear to work. All this started when I installed Constant Guard from Comcast.

What is "Constant Guard," some kind of antivirus or firewall app? If the problem started after you installed that, can you uninstall it?

A thorough scan of my computers by a Microsoft on-line product revealed a virus called Trojan_Win32_Sefnti... was discovered on two PC's. However, I forgot to do an uninstall. I did try to restore the OS to a month earlier, but I get a no change message. "Constant Guard" is something Comcast suggested I install. You can look it up on their web site. I had a system failure a few months back, and Office Depot did a reinstall. They did ot give me a copy of the system they installed. So my XP Proffesional is not compatible. Nuff for now cause I am rambaling.

You might try downloading and running Malwarebytes, a free program designed to find and get rid of spyware and Trojans. You can download it from various sites such as Cnet.com.

I deleted Comcast's "Constant Guard", and StopZilla. After a re-boot my keyboard started to work again. After complaining to the CCO at Comcast, a tech was here two days later and looked at everything for me. I am a Happy Boy!
