Lenovo IdeaPad Y410p Laptop black screen

Specs: Windows 8.1, 2.40 GHz
Midway through using it, my laptop suddenly crashed and had to restart. But when it started back up, I ended up with a black screen where only the cursor was present. I tried to reboot it up into safemode by holding shift+F8, but it consistently lead me back to the welcome screen (before logging in with password, which leads to the black screen).
I bought this laptop a while back. but always had issues with it crashing mid-use. However, this is my first time seeing the black screen.
I've only used this laptop a couple times when I didn't have any other options, and in terms of usage, it is close to new.

No more Warranty?
Any message or blue screen displaying the reason of the crash?

No more warranty. The was no stated reason of the crash, though there was a blue screen that said that my laptop had to be restarted due to "an error" it was experiencing.

Try removing battery power from charging cord.and powering up holding down power button for 20 or thirty seconds.then put battery back in and connect power cord then try rebooting sometimes this has been known to fix problems. If not try it again with all power and batteries removed then 20 seconds holding down power button.Has been known to fix issues.
