Lenovo ideapad s405 seem to be stuck in a boot loop

Specs: Windows 7
I have a Lenovo ideapad s405 and I did a windows update and the computer after some time just shut down and now when we turn it on is just says Lenovo on the screen and then it will shut off and then turn back on and do the same thing over and over

You can't be sure if it shut off due to a hardware problem or the update. Since it's not even starting to boot into windows maybe it's hardware. Try to access bios setup when you first power it up. Here's a download for the manual if you're not sure which key to use:


If you can open bios setup see if it's recognizing the hard drive.

Also try to access the windows boot menu using the F8 key. If it gets that far then at least you know the hard drive is being seen. If you get the menu try booting to safe mode.

When things get stuck, this procedure "sometimes" helps:

Turn off laptop, unplug from domestic supply then remove the battery. Next press the power off/on button for about 20 seconds. Put it back together and see - you might be lucky.
