Hello all

Got a new monitor screen and it has HDMI + built in speakers. My motherboard is a SABERTOOTH Z77 (LGA1155) and my video card is a VE228 on AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series

Why is it that i do not get any sound when i use only the HDMI cable is there something i should do to my card so i can get the sound in the HDMI like it should just like any other HDMI cable.

It should have been recognised by default but if you go to Control Panel/Sound, under the 'playback' tab you should see 'HDMI listed - it will say 'plugged in' if the HDMI is recognised by your soundcard, you then highlight it, click on 'properties' and then select the 'enable' option from the drop-down list at the bottom.
