Laptop won't turn on.

March 3, 2016 at 14:01:25
Specs: Windows 10
My TOSHIBA L50-A-18U laptop suddenly stopped working. I left it on, assuming that it would go to sleep mode (like it always does) but when I came back, the screen and the LED on the power button were off, and I couldn't get them to turn on in any way. I've checked the power cable (used different power outlets, and tried it on my other toshiba laptop - it works). Something else that I find weird is that the LED that indicates the battery is charging is always on, whether or not it has the power cable plugged.

PS: This laptop doesn't have a removable battery.

I really don't know what to do as I can't even get the screen to light up, please help me. Also, the warranty is gone, so that's not an option.

mmm This is how one removes the battery..

Perhaps have a good look at it and then see if you can remove the battery... Let it sit for a few minutes, ad then re-instal it? Then see what happens when you power up - both with and without mains adapter (Test with battery only).

Equally once having removed the battery perhaps see if it will boot up OK using mains adapter only?

But perhaps read this post first - and see if you can follow and apply the suggested shutdown routine...

Thanks! I wasn't aware that my laptop had a reset switch. I pressed it, and was able to turn it on after. It seems to be working fine now.
