To clarify: mains adapter is connected, switched on, and the battery is charged?

When you lose connections(s) does the AC (power) in/charger indicator still show charging; or at least there is AC incoming?

Also - does this happen with another browser?

Yes, try to explain in detail what you mean by "Suddenly I lose power". What exactly are the symptoms?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Thanks for your input. The battery is fully charged, and the adapter is connected to the D/C.

There are no symptoms. In the middle of internet browsing, the laptop shuts off suddenly without any warning messages.

If it shuts down and all the lights go out then it sounds like a hardware fault, especially as the battery is in place and fully charged. Hard to say what though - unusual symptom. Could be a connection or even that the vents are bunged up with dust.

What is the make and model number of the laptop?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Can you turn the laptop on again immediately after this happens,
or do you have to wait a while?

How long after you turn it on does it conk out? If it varies, what is
the range?

I take it that there other indicators that the laptop has shut down
besides the screen going black. What are they? Do status lights
go out? Do fans stop? Hard drive stops whirring? Or what?

I had a similar problem with a laptop in the past; power turns off unexpectedly no matter what I was doing. The laptop was about 2 years old. I changed the battery pack and the problem was gone.

Yes, it could be a short in the battery pack.. To test this you (he/she) would remove the battery pack and plug it back in (AC power cord), then turn it on just on the AC power cord. If it no longer happens then the battery is bad, if it happens without the battery connected, then it is not the battery that is at fault here.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
