Laptop LCD screen flickering

July 13, 2011 at 19:58:56
Specs: Windows Vista, 1.00 gb ram
i have a dell inspiron 1501 with windows sp2 vista business, and the other day i shut it down as normal, then like and hour later it started it up and it had all different colors and the writing on the screen was unreadable and all colors are inverted and all their is are inverted lines flickering. i plugged an external monitor up to my pc and the screen on that monitor was perfectly fine but my laptop was still all different colors and flickering. i have turned it on and off, updated drivers and googled everywhere but cant find an answer. I was on this other site and it said that if my laptop had been overheating and unexpectedly shutting down (which mine had been doing on multiple occasions) it could screw up my graphics card or sumthin like that and cause the screen to not display a picture properly. anyone's helps would be so much appreciated, i really need help with this as it is extre)ely annoying and i only recently got my computer fixed for a completely different problem :D
