For some reason, my laptop battery doesn't charge on Sundays but charges without any problem any other day. Also, I discovered that by putting my laptop battery(wrapped in a strong polythene bag) in the freezer for about a month extends the life of the battery almost indefinitely. I've been doing this now for several years and have not had to buy a replacement battery. I might add, I have two batteries, one spare and one in my laptop.
You might try changing the date so the computer thinks another day is Sunday. Then see if the problem occurs on a real Sunday or when the computer thinks it's Sunday. If the latter it must be a power setting or some computer activity, as already mentioned.
I never heard of freezing a battery to extend its life. That's good to know.
It has all the readings of a time switch or something like being involved... Be it a timer in the mains supply (easy to verify by inspection, and also using other sockets); or a setting within the computer itself?
