Solved LaCie external HDD has suddenly stopped working

Specs: Windows 8

My external LaCie hard drive (model MS25U) has suddenly stopped working and I am desperate for help to recover my all my files.

The hard driver worked 2 weeks ago when I was copying some old photos from there to my laptop. I closed my laptop with the driver plugged in. Next time when I started my laptop I unplugged the driver first. A few days later when I plugged in the driver to my laptop it can't be read and I get an error message that says the driver has to be formated first before use. It is also now shown as Local Disc D and not as LaCie anymore.

I have tried to use another USB-cabel to see if the problem was in the cabel, which it wasn't.
I also tried to connect the hard driver to other laptops (one with windows 7 and another one with windows XP) and the hard driver still can't be read.
I have not dropped the hard driver on the floor or anything before it stopped working.

Please, any suggestion how I can recover all my files from my hard driver? I have some photos and some documents in the hard driver that I haven't backed up yet to my other external hard driver.

Just for future info, you mean hard drive (as per first line). Driver is software.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
