Specs: Macintosh

Thanks go to a previous poster December 2013 (See link above). The printhead jammed on the left side. I used Kodak on line help and the guy finally came up with the solution to buy a new printer. The printer head can be released by putting a finger down to the left under the printer head and under the metal box beneath it. It takes a bit of finding so persevere. The first poster stripped down his to get to this but it is not necessary. Just put your finger in and try to push whatever you touch (it is just in front of some black foam) towards the back of the printer. The printhead will jump down when released. I did have to do it three times before it was ready to print - it jammed twice more. I believe it might be caused by dried, or sticky, ink on the mechanism and intermittent use. I might try to a bit of cleaning with a cotton bud. A black finger is cheaper than £50!

I've got a better idea, don't buy a Kodak printer. Canon is the brand to go for if you're serious about printout quality, photo prints especially.

I've had my Canon printer for over 10 years and it's never given me any trouble at all.

Mine repeatedly sticks now, left and right. Any ideas on what I should clean to resolve this properly?

Mine has been doing the same, Its caused by a blocked waste ink pipe that eventually overflows and coats the cleaning mechanism in sticky ink. I eventually removed the lid and main cover ( its easy, only 8 screws and some ribbon connectors) to get to head cleaning mechanism, took that out (only 3 screws) and washed it all in warm water got the waste ink pump working again by cleaning and blowing. put back together and its working like new :-)
