Solved Jumpy FPS in games

Specs: Windows 7, 3.0 GHz / 4 Gb
Hi, I've been having framerate issues in games after a minute or two of playing. This is independant on graphics settings, and looks as if the game ran very smoothly (50-60 fps), but with repeated, very small pauses in rendering, like chops, every half a second or so.

These are my system specs:
Athlon X4 640 (@3.0ghz)
4gb ram
GeForce GTX 460
Gigabyte AM3 880

Since the problem occurs on newer games, try updating your graphics card drivers. Lower your resolution a bit as a temporary fix until you solve the problem. If you have any unnecessary programs running when playing (e.g. Internet browser, word processor, and whatnot) close them as they can take up your computer's resources.

Did you try running CoreTemp?

Try searching around in Google.

Happens on games I've played recently, LA Noire, Dungeon Siege 3 demo, DiRT 2... but not on older game engines such as battlefield play4free, half life 2...

I've tried searching but I can't find anything similar to my problem, probably because it's hard to explain with a word other than 'choppy'.

I've downloaded coretemp but I'm pretty sure my temperature is fine. It's winter here and I have a good chasis to keep cool in summer, still I'll update if I find something else.
