my dell optiplex 755 q6600 with 6 gb of ddr2 ram and a nvidia geforce 9500gt with 1gb of ram takes 5 to 7 seconds to turn on the monitor and the dell spash screen and then i get the windows 7 start i ran the diag for the hard drive i have a wd raptor 160gb drive with windows 7 home premium loaded that passed and i went on to check memory that passed and further it said no boot partition found was the only thing i never had any computer take 5 seconds to turn on the monitor and ive had a few can you advise me if this is normal or do i need to reinstall windows again or is there a easy fix for this thanks for any advise i get
It's nothing to do with Windows as it happens before the splash screen. It's just the computer testing the hardware before it starts the boot process. Don't worry about it - 5 seconds here or there isn't much.
