The only way you are going to get more video performance from an old AGP motherboard is to replace it with one that has PCIe 16x 2.0 built in. Depending on your CPU and in general the age of your system, this probably does not pay. You would need the MB, Video Card, a new power supply, and probably new RAM and that is only if your CPU is not VERY old (at least a core 2 duo). For the money you would be investing, it would be cheaper to buy or build a new system from scratch and you would actually get modern performance.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

The simple answer to your original question is no you cannot.

The internal Video and External video both share the same AGP bus. The AGP bus is an extension of the PCI bus and can only have one device connected to it at a time.

Insert an AGP card into the AGP slot on the motherboard and the internal video will be disabled. Any main memory allocated to the internal video will be release back to main memoy as the AGP card will have its own memory. It is designed that way.

Some video cards(low end and old) allow the use of main memory as video memory. Also OS allow the use of main memory if video memory from v-card ran out. Remember ATi hyper memory and nVidia turbo cache?

Nowdays your Geforce 6800 is easily outpeformed by AMD intergrated.

You know the real meaning of peace only if you have been through the war.
