Is there software that can map your computer?

Specs: Windows 7, 2.13 GHz, 4GB RAM
I've heard of simple software like traceroute which can tell you the topology of a network, but I don't know of any software that gives you a 'computer topology', like tells you which RAM is connected to which core, or what hardware is connected to which port. I know it's possible because there's hardware detection, so does anyone know of any software like this?

Thanks. Just wondering, because I'm planning on building an OS to teach me how or whatever.
