is there any difference in front and back usb ports.Either in terms of voltage or in any other way??????????????????

From my knowledge, the back ports are better, the front ports seem to lose some power, possibly because their lead is longer to the MOB

Depends on the age of your motherboard and if the USB controller is being shared by a card reader. Some front ports only run at USB 1.1.

There also can be an issue of undersized wiring as mentioned above.

No difference at all on most boards. As OtheHill said, some really old motherboards run the front ports at USB 1.1, but any board made after 2002 would be all 2.0.

Front panel audio is a different story. You'll usually get much better sound out of the back audio ports.
