Specs: Windows 7
The battery in my laptop E525 Emachine has died after only 6months. The retailer where purchased has said that the laptop is guaranteed for 12 months, but the battery is only for 6 months. Surely this cant be right, as i cannot use laptop without battery.

Never mind what the dealer said, read the guarantee that came with the machine, the one written by the manufacturer. It's the only one that counts.

Look at the link below for warranty terms on your laptop. I just skimmed the warranty terms but it appears the battery should be covered. I suggest you contact Gateway.

Thanx Stuart, I just did that, and aparently the battery is classed as a consumable, and E machines say that it is indeed not covered by the 12months guarantee. Dont think this is fair, but hey thats life i surpose. Thanks you for your response. Ann
