Solved Is my computer capable of using this RAM?

April 20, 2017 at 14:39:59
Specs: Windows 10
My motherboard specs are all in this link:
https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/760G...

The ram I want to get:
CORSAIR ValueSelect 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model CMV16GX3M2A1333C9-Newegg.com

I am very novice with computer hardware, and I would greatly appreciate it if you used terminology I can understand (or define it). If I am missing any specifications, let me know!

Thank you, Davidw. I am still somewhat confused about how RAM speed works (1033,1333,1600 MHz) in relation to the motherboard, but I am fairly confident that I found compatible RAM.

You have to consider the CPU, that's were the memory controller is. If you had checked Crucial.com as recommended, you would have found your board supports DDR3-1866, which is for FX-series CPUs. I wouldn't get less than DDR3-1600. DDR3-1333 is for older CPUs. Will it work? sure, but your system will take a performance hit.

Thank you, Riider, for the RAM suggestion. I had checked Crucial.com, but I clearly did not understand the data I was seeing.
