Is KillDisk & Asus Vista Recovery compatible?

Asus / X58l

Specs: Windows Vista, 3GB Ram
I want to use KillDisk (http://www.killdisk.com/) on my HDD. I am running this on Vista ASUS X58L series. Will I be able to install my recovery DVD after using KillDisk. It's an OEM recovery disk not a standalone OS!

Thanks in advance

If you wipe out the recovery partition, you're screwed. Why do you feel you need to use KillDisk?

As jam said, your machine probably has 2 partitions. a C and a D. The D is your recovery partition where all the data necessary to restore your computer resides. If you format this on purpose or by accident, you're screwed if you need to do a full recovery of the machine. What are you trying to accomplish?

My laptop has a C:/ drive and then an S:/ drive that I created. The C:/ drive holds the OS.

I want to achieve a clean, factory-standard install.

Help is still appreciated but I think I might just buy a new/bigger HDD to suit what i'm trying to achieve

The recovery partition is hidden. I don't understand why you feel KillDisk is necessary.

I don't know. I was thinking I would use KillDisk on my HDD once I get a new one but I think smashing it with a hammer might get the same effect.

Just don't feel safe with an HDD full of passwords and other data hanging around :D

I forgot the recovery partition was hidden. Anyhow, I have a 6 lb. sledge you can borrow.
