Is it possible to trace a usb stick to a pc

I want to know if you can trace a usb stick or data on a usb stick back to a computer that ino was transfered from

No, not unless something was deliberately put onto the USB stick to identify it.

Depending on the type of data that is on the stick. there may be something in the data files to identify the originator.

It depends on the files. IN the case of files created with Microsoft Office, the name of the originator is embedded in the file. It is the same for some other files.

It all depends on what created the files and the format. There is no such thing a basic file, they are all different.
