Solved Is it okay to handle a hard drive logic board frequently?

Hi,
a general question. How fragile is the logic board on a hard drive? I use two internal hard drives like externals and handle them frequently. Just wondering if the logic boards being bare against different surfaces and sometimes touched would cause any issues? Want to be sure it’s not a bad idea. I’ve seen them used this way online but just thought today about fragility. Thanks.

If they're not SSD's, as long as you don't drop them, they should be fine. A bigger concern (if components are exposed) would be ESD.

If this is a desktop and you remove them often, then maybe using a removable drive bay would be better.
