My external HD (IOMEGA) suddenly can not open or read by computer or any other device (USB). I normally connect it to my TV but now it doesn't work anymore

Hi Yuyun,

Is it that the external hard drive is not detected on the system or any other device?
Was it getting detected on the TV before?

Try connecting the external drive to another computer to check if it is an issue with the external drive.

Try arranging for a different cable and check if it is an issue with the cable.

Thanks & Regards

I normally connect the hard drive to the multimedia player & goes through the tv, but now it doesn't work through any of my computers.

Look for the external by connecting to your PC and going to Windows Disk Management. If listed there, post all the information listed for that drive.

Does the drive show in "Computer"?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Did you try the drive in another computer (as per response #2) to make sure it hasn't died?

EDIT: Also check your USB sockets with a flash drive (or whatever) to make sure they are working. Try the drive in another USB socket too.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Look in Windows Disk Management for the drive as I mentioned in #3 above.
