Iomega 1GB External hard drives has stopped working

Specs: Windows 7
Hi my iomega 1gb external hard drive has stopped working I haven't used them for about 6 months now they both don't work.They are not even recognised on my computer the light is on the hard drive but no noise from the hard drive can any one help

I've put non-working hard drives in the freezer before and had them work, I've also lightly tapped them with a screwdriver and had them start working again. But if you have important data on your drives, I wouldn't try either as you can make the problem worse.

If you know for sure that the hard drives aren't spinning ("the light is on the hard drive but no noise from the hard drive") your best option is to contact the original equipment manufacturer for assistance or for data recovery.

Be prepared though, if the hard drives are out of warranty, data recovery can be very expensive.

Look in Windows Disk Management to see if the external drive/s is listed there. If it is, then post ALL the listed information for that/those drive/s.
