Invalid System Disk error, USB install

Microsoft Windows 7 professional 64-bit

Specs: Windows 7
I recently built a desktop computer and have been trying to install Windows 7. I have a 1tb FAT32 formatted hard drive, and Windows 7 ISO on a flash drive. No matter what order I run them on start up, I get the "Invalid System Disk" error. What do I need to do?

Also, sorry if this is in the wrong section, I didn't know if this was a Windows 7 specific issue, so I didn't want to post it there.

When you say you have the Win 7 ISO on a flash drive, do you mean you have a bootable installer version of Win7 or the ISO file itself? If it's the first, do you have your motherboard set to boot from the USB drive first?

Now, I have the ISO file itself. I tried unpacking the ISO onto the flash drive, and the same error came up. I've been booting from flash.

I found out what was wrong, I didn't have my flash drive formatted to boot, it was reading it as a normal hard drive. Thanks for getting me started on troubleshooting.
