is there any internet port on ibm thinkpad 9547 (win98)? i have an internet cable in my room and i want to use it on my ibm but i didn't see any internet port. if there is, on what side? thank you

...internet port...it should look like this

...however, some computers doesn`t have internet port...
...look at the back of the computer carefully
...if you can`t find it, then mosst likely your computer doesn`t have internet port...in that case look for usb cable...

There is no such thing as an Internet port. What you really mean is an Ethernet port that can connect to the Internet. An Ethernet port takes an RJ45 plug. This is similar to an RG11 plug that is the standard telephone type plug but a bit bigger.

Unless your laptop has a built in Network Interface Card that provides Ethernet then you are out of luck.

You have two options. Buy a PMCIA Expansion card that will provide the necessary Ethernet port. Like this:

Or alternatively a USB to Ethernet adaptor.

Personally I would go for the PMCIA card, it is likely to be far more reliable and faster.
