I don't do facebook so I'm not sure what type of games you might be asking about, but the HD3650 isn't much of a gaming card.

Neither of the CPUs you mentioned are very good. Obviously the P4 is better than the Celeron, but did you check to make sure it's running at the right speed? If your motherboard only supports 533MHz FSB, your P4 may be running at 2.267GHz rather than 3.4GHz.

I'm also a proud facebook nonuser. If the game you're playing is that Farmville crapola I keep hearing about, it's Flash-based.

Flash games can be very CPU intensive. I too suspect that your new P4 is running at 2.26GHz. A 3.4GHz P4 should be much faster than a 2.93 Celly-D.

Vinstot - fyi:

I don't Facebook either, but the speed of online games depends on several things:

- Speed and health of your computer and your video card.

- Speed of your Internet connection.

- Amount of users online AT the website you're at playing the same game.

- Type of Web browser you're using, some are faster and handle FLASH better than others (IE7/8, Opera, FireFox, Chrome, Safari etc).

- Version of Flash you're using. Adobe Flash sucks. it's slow, a resource hog, and is insecure as well.

One other thing, I have a 128 Mb ATI Radeon card in my main single core CPU PC, an older one, the games are very slow on this machine. I ran the same games on a newer Duo Core CPU w/ a 512 Mb NVIDIA video card, the games FLEW!

Just another stupid saying...

my board is ASUS P5S800-VM says on info it supports pentium with 800Mhz and celeron on 533Mhz so i guess the p4 is working fine

The fact that you said "i guess the p4 is working fine" seems to mean you don't know for sure. Try using CPUZ to check your clock settings.
