Installing Windows 7 on laptop - Drivers?

July 12, 2010 at 05:29:00
Specs: Windows 7
I am going to upgrade my Sony Vaio laptop with Windows 7. Do I need to reinstall drivers for the wireless internet to work? I had this issue on a previous Vaio laptop where I upgraded Windows and the wireless internet never worked again. If this is the case, how and where do I get the necessary drivers?

sony vaio what? Not only wireless driver, all necessary drivers must be installed eg. Chipset, audio, display etc. The drivers can be obtained from system manufacture website.

When you say "upgrade", do you mean you're going to leave Vista installed & do an "in-place" upgrade? or are you going to wipe the hard drive & start from scratch?

Sony does not list that model number at their website but it appears to be cross referenced to the VGN-N300 series. There are several in the series:

also, is there a way to tell which series I have of Sony Vaio? All it has listed in the bottom (where they say to look) is that other number I stated
