Install new hard drive into IBM Thinkpad R32

Specs: Windows XP Pro SP3, Intel Pent 4 1.6GHz w/ 512MB RAM
I'm installing a new hard drive into a coworkers laptop which is an IBM Thinkpad R32 and I did a System Restore to the old hard drive and that worked fine. He bought a new larger hard drive and he wants me to install Windows XP Pro SP3 onto it but for it doesn't recognize the CD-ROM drive once the new hard drive is installed so I cannot boot to the Windows XP CD. Is there a way to get the CD-ROM Drive to work so I can load Windows? I'm sure it involves loading the CD drivers with a boot disk but I'm not sure how to proceed. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The easiest thing to do would be to clone the old drive to a new drive with cloning or ghosting software. I've used Symantec Ghost exclusively, but there are other cloning tools available:

You may need to access the laptops BIOS and change the Boot order so the CD/DVD boots before the hard disk.

Just another stupid saying...

You have to get the cd to be seen in bios. Until that happens you can't select it as the boot choice.
