Specs: Windows XP
Ide-to-SATA adapter cannot see ide cdrom drives. I have a new mobo, Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H, with one SATA Harddrive. I am trying to add the two IDE harddrives and two IDE CDROM drives. Currently I have the harddrives conected to the IDE connection on the MOBO. I also have the two CDROM drives connected via adapters to
SATA connections on the MOBO. I cannot see the CDROM drives. When I connected them the other way I could not see the harddrives but, could CDROM drives. Went into CMOS setup and changed Peripheral connections such that the sata connections would be used. The choices for this category is Native IDE, RAID, and AHCI. I could not get any of those choices to work. Any suggestions?

"Any suggestions?"

Sure. Dump one optical drive & one HDD. Either that or buy the proper adapter...an IDE/PCI controller card.

Do you have the jumpers properly set? Do the instructions that came with the adaptor say what the jumper setting should be?

(Assuming jumpers are OK) connect the cdroms to the IDE port on the motherboard and buy an ATA add-on card and connect the IDE hard drives to it.
