I am looking for the ideal Northbridge/Southbridge combination and compatibility motherboards for the following hardware setups. The reviews I've been looking around online are helpful, but it's not easy to find the exact thing for what we intend it to.

Setup 1 for AMD processor for putting either a dedicated NVIDIA or ATI graphic card:
- AM2+ socket
- must have DDR2-800 support of any kind
- must have at least one IDE connection
- must have one PCI Express 2.0 x16, I don't plan to have multiple cards
- integrated audio of any kind
- must not have integrated graphics

Setup 2 for Intel processor for putting either a dedicated NVIDIA or ATI graphic card:
- LGA775 socket
- must have DDR2-800 support of any kind
- must have at least one IDE connection
- must have one PCI Express 2.0 x16, I don't plan to have multiple cards
- integrated audio of any kind
- must not have integrated graphics

I assume SATA, USB and Network are available on all of those cards I look for. Any motherboard brand name is ok. I plan to upgrade to a slightly better computer just for playing games like Stacraft II. I have already taken care of my video card possible choices, so no need to hint me for that, I just wanted to know which motherboard offers better compatibility with either of them videocards without causing instability problems and without having that many extras that I'd never use.

"must not have integrated graphics"

Why? The board performs every bit as good. And just because the integrated video is there doesn't mean you HAVE to use it. But there may come a time when your video card goes bad, then you can temporarily fall back on the integrated with no down time.

AMD = AMD 770 or 790X chipset with either SB710 or SB750

Intel = Intel P43 or P45 chipset with ICH10 (do NOT buy an Intel brand board)
