IBM PC 300GL CPU beeping fault

Specs: Windows XP
i have just salvaged this old ibm 300GL -6275 computer that have not used for quite a long time, powering it up it gives me a beeping sound even on attempts on changing the hard disk, can anyone tell what causes this problem and if this cpu will ever.

Look for the correct version of your BIOS in the left column under "BEEP Codes" (likely one of the Phoenix variants). Click the link and the page containing the codes should provide you with info as to the nature of the problem...

am still straggling, is there a direct solution ot this, to add on the monitor is blank(led still orange when cpu is on and bliping(beeping).

Yes there is a direct solution to this. Follow what T-R-A told you to do and look up the beep codes. If you can't figure it out then post the make and model of your motherboard or computer and the beep code you hear and we can try to help.

better to straggle than to struggle ;-)
When people offer solutions, why not try them?
You sure it's the cpu or the tower?

trying to skip the puzzle, i replaced MOBO with one that i got from a pc that has ont been in use for 5 years, the beep is gone but creating more puzzles, while booting, it gives this message; pxe-m04:hooking bootstrap interrupt 18h, missing OS. when i try to install an OS, the pc hangs at 'restarting computer'. NOTE; the OS am trying to install win xp, the ram on pc is 320mb the pc is a p2, it has worked before, what could be the problem now?.
