Hi ???,

a) you do not advise your location, which may help with suggestions asto your battery problem.

Googling here in the UK throws up a number of suggestions.

b) each dos application supported a range of printers, by including the required drivers. Generally these are for dot matrix type with a few of the earlier laser ones.
Not many with colour either.

Suggest you check which printers the dos application(s) you will be running support.

There were a few 'standards', such as IBM Proprinter, IBM Graphics, Epson MX, etc. Thus other printers tended to offer an emulation of such.

I use an OKI ML192 Elite emulating an IBM Graphics.
Had many of these installed - truly the dot matrix Rolls Royce.
This is a 9 pin, dot matrix, standard width printer.
Still going strong without problem for 20-25 years.
Best to use ribbons from the maker.

As a matter of interest, where are you located? I am in Hammersmith, West London.

You can probably use the 'edit' facility on your above post.

Good Luck - keep us posted.

You will need a parallel port printer. Since you didn't mention any paper requirements, laser printers with the proper emulation mode will work. No USB or GDI for an old computer. Probably no cheap inkjets.
