I want to upgrade ram in my laptop

August 5, 2018 at 02:20:06
Specs: Window 7, I5 2nd gen / 4gb
I have a Dell inspiron n5110, 500gb HD, i5 2ng gen 64 bit, 4gb RAM 1gb Nvidia graphic ( not sure which one)

I have a free Ram slot available in my laptop and i also have a spare 2gb RAM with me . But i am not sure if i can use that

the RAM that came with my laptop has " 4gb 2Rx8 PC3-10600S - 09-11-F3" written on it

And the one i have with me has "2gb 2Rx8 PC3 - 10600" written on it

Will it work if i use the 2gb RAM ? And is there any way that i could check if it worked?

Please help, thank you

"Will it work if i use the 2gb RAM ?"
Try it.

"And is there any way that i could check if it worked?"
Look in System & it will quote how much ram is usable.

Hi, quickest and most effective way to check what ram and how much i have found is to run the scan from Crucial:

http://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/memory...

Best way to confirm what you have and options available for upgrade.
