Solved I reformat my comp, after that, there is no sound

January 4, 2012 at 04:48:36
Specs: Windows XP
After reformatting my comp and installing win xp, I realized that I have no sound driver. I searched for so many drivers in the internet but they don't seem to work. Whenever I try to install the driver, it only reaches up to the half of installation. After that, my computer would restart automatically and still there is no sound.

✔ Best Answer
"Motherboard Name Unknown"

Unknown? It's listed right there - Manufacturer ASUSTek Computer Inc.
Product P5PE-VM

All the drivers you need will be found at the ASUS website. And I'm sure the audio isn't the only driver you're lacking. XP will load generic drivers if it has them, but being that XP is 10 yrs old, the drivers obviously aren't up to date. Click the Download tab on the following page, everything you need will be found there. Looks like your audio is SoundMax AD1888 Audio:
