The card mentioned is specifically advertised on the Dell website as being suitable for the Inspiron 660s ( http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sn... ). You are now being told by a Dell representative that it is not suitable without a PSU upgrade, and the thread that the agent links to says that the PSU in a 660s cannot be upgraded.

This strikes me as particularly poor advice from Dell - both from their website and from the agent here. I think that you should return the card to Dell (assuming you bought from them), which was greatly overpriced for what it is, and ask for your money back. The sad fact seems to be that your computer is not suitable for upgrading. However it may be worth asking a local computer shop, if you have one - the small "mom and pop" variety are best - where you might get better advice than Dell are offering.

Hi Penny80,

Dell Inspiron 660s has a 220 watt power supply.

The video card mentioned by you requires minimum 350 Watt power supply so it may not work properly.

You may try a different video card for the system.

NOTE: Video card upgrade is to be done by a professional only.

Thanks & Regards
