Specs: Windows 7
I have reformatted my computer before, from my windows xp cd, but this time, for some reason my cd drive has disappeared from my computer. How can I reformat it without a CD drive?

your specs say windows 7, so is the PC in question XP or 7?

If you want to reload you need to know how the owners manual suggest. Some cd's can be booted from the off powered system and some can not.

To test, just power off with the xp cd in the tray. Power back on and go to bios to set cd as first boot choice if not already set. Then boot to xp cd to return to oem state.

If the cd doesn't show in bios then you may have to work on it.
