I need help with graphics card & motherboard

Specs: Windows 7
Okay so im having trouble with my computer.
So i installed my graphics card and installed
the latest driver. I went into the BIOS and
changed Integrated graphics to PCI-e. i did
that then saved, exited, then restarted. so i
start my computer with my screen plugged
into my graphics card. The boot screen comes
out then the screen goes black with at the top
left corner a blinky line shaped like this "_"
comes on the whole screen is black and it just
stays there with the blinky light and doesnt do
anything else. can anyone help me?

The nVidia 9800GT requires a power supply with a minimum 400W rating & at least 26A on the +12v rail. If you didn't upgrade from the stock HP power supply, that *may* be your problem. Also, did you connect the 6-pin PCIe plug to the rear of the card?

yes i have a 450 watt power supply and i connected the 6 pin.
